Parodontitis does not have to mean tooth loss
Parodontology deals with the treatment of diseases of the hanging apparatus of the tooth, i.e. gums, hanging ligaments and bone.
Periodontitis (sometimes also periodontitis) is caused by inflammation of the gums or bone. It arises when there is an overabundance of bacteria in the mouth, the proliferation of which is encouraged by the presence of plaque and tartar on the teeth. It can manifest itself as bleeding when brushing the teeth, pain in the gums, receding gums, as well as bad breath. In advanced stages, the teeth begin to loosen and wobble.
If inflammation is present for a long time, it can lead to tooth loss. Unfortunately, this damage is permanent and irreversible. The danger of this disease is compounded by the fact that for a long time you may not observe any symptoms. Chronic periodontitis can become a cause of serious illness because the bacteria can spread throughout the body.
The most important thing for the treatment of periodontitis is dental hygiene, which you can also use with us. Our dental hygienist will remove plaque and tartar from your mouth so that the overall condition of your mouth can be seen. The dentist will then begin the actual periodontal treatment. This can be done conservatively or surgically. Once treatment is complete, you must come in for regular check-ups. For periodontal treatment, we have experienced dentists at our clinic who can help you whether you need a minor procedure or a complex procedure.
Early treatment and consistent dental hygiene can help stabilize the condition at any stage of periodontitis and prevent it from worsening.
